The Government of Georgia has made the second, sectoral – legislative part of the European Commission questionnaire public, which was handed over to the country on April 11 after Georgia officially applied for EU membership on March 3.
The second part of the questionnaire (https://cdn2.ipn.ge/media/documents/kitxvari.pdf) includes 33 chapters and up to 2,300 questions, focusing on sectoral topics and compatibility with EU legislation.
Georgia has already completed work on the first part of the questionnaire which covers political and economic issues, and it will be handed over to the Head of the EU Delegation to Georgia, Carl Hartzell, on Monday, May 2.
The deadline of delivery for the second part of the questionnaire was set by the European Union on May 13, but the Georgian government says it wants to submit it earlier than scheduled.
The questionnaire is mandatory for the EU to decide whether or not to grant Georgia a candidate country status.
