Oleksiy Arestovych, the Ukrainian presidential adviser, on Friday said the current foreign course of the Georgian Dream authorities was“absolutely pro-Russian”.

He stressed that if Georgia’s third president Mikheil Saakashvili died in custody, who currently holds Ukrainian citizenship, “everyone would think he was killed”.

The politician alleged such developments would spark internal tensions in Georgia or make an influence on election outcomes.

“The question arises, who are they [the Georgian government]  afraid of? The answer is very simple, the one whom Armenia will soon stop fearing or has already stopped,” Arestovych said.

The Georgian Dream authorities have many times accused the Ukrainian official of making “unfounded statements and allegations”, urging official Kyiv to “distance itself” from his views.

The Georgian Dream government members claim Arestovych and several other Ukrainian officials had “revealed plans’ ‘ that their authorities “wished” to see Georgia involved in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
