Chair of the Georgian Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee, Nikoloz Samkharadze, dismissed accusations that the government is promoting Russian interests, calling them a “cheap manipulation” aimed at discrediting the ruling party.

Samkharadze said certain groups attempt to label the government as pro-Russian without providing any concrete evidence.

“They don’t even try to present actual cases or facts. The goal is to stick a Russian label on the government, knowing that anything associated with Russia is unacceptable to the Georgian public,” he stated.

He argued that the strategy failed, as most Georgians continue to support the current leadership and do not believe the pro-Russian narrative.
