Georgian MPs on  Friday hosted Ukrainian children on the initiative of the ruling party MP Beka Odisharia, the chairman of the Diaspora and Caucasus Affairs Committee, giving them gifts and pledging support for Ukraine against the “aggressor”.

“I am glad that I can welcome you to the Parliament of Georgia. I am glad that your eyes are so bright with the joy that a person of your age should have. The Georgian nation has also gone through many trials in recent decades. We also had moments in our childhood when there was no peace in our country.

“Then our eyes shone with hope for the future, and these hopes had always come true, because good always wins over evil, and thanks to your heroic women and men, this good will win over the evil that is today in the form of an aggressor on the territory of Ukraine”, Shalva Papuashvili, the parliament speaker of Georgia told the guests.

Odisharia reminded the public that at the initiative of Papuashvili Georgia was the second parliamentary delegation in the world that had visited Irpin, Bucha, Kyiv and other regions amid hostities in Ukraine.

“The history of the Georgian people is a struggle for its independence. This is what unites us with the Ukrainian people. I want to thank the heroes who are on the battlefield. I want to thank the Ukrainian people for doing a great job for the free world today,” said Odisharia.

During 10 days the Ukrainian children and their educators will visit different regions of Georgia and learn about Georgian historical, cultural and ethnographic features, they will also visit Mtatsminda Park in Tbilisi for entertainment.
