The National Bank of Georgia has warned consumers about internet fraud, so-called phishing, with the use of WhatsApp.
The bank said today they had detected a number of cases when unidentified individuals contacted people via WhapsApp and offered different items to buy.
“These individuals also sent users links to websites and asked them to fill out a card or other personal data. After the user entered their personal or card details on the above links, those unidentified people had access to them,” said the bank.
The National Bank of Georgia has urged citizens to be cautious when sharing their personal and financial information, including card data.
