Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili says that the Georgian parliament was the second which adopted the resolution in support of Ukraine and whose ambassador and consul still remain in Kyiv despite obvious threats of Russia invading the capital city.

He has told journalists that Georgia is using all formats to express support for Ukraine and stand by the country in these difficult times.

The Georgian opposition demanded the calling of parliament’s irregular session on Ukraine today which was accepted by the president.

However, the ruling Georgian Dream party said that they will not attend the session as the “United National Movement opposition is trying to use Ukraine’s issue for its narrow political interests.”
