Georgian Patriarch says May 26 determines country’s identity

Georgian Patriarch Ilia ll sent kind wishes on the country’s Independence Day today, stating that it was one of the crucial dates in Georgian history.
“I cordially congratulate every Georgian, every citizen of Georgia, our compatriots living abroad and all the friends of our country on the Independence Day of Georgia, the 26th of May, – one of the most important dates which determine our identity,” said the Patriarch.
Today Georgia is celebrating its Independence Day, the 104th anniversary of the establishment of its First Democratic Republic.
