Georgian PM announces Brussels’ trip to attend Association Council meeting

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said on Monday that he will leave for Brussels later today, along with several ministers, to attend the seventh Association Council meeting on Tuesday to review Georgia’s relations with the bloc. 

“Today we will leave for Brussels. As you know, the seventh session of the Association Council will be held in Brussels. I will personally lead the delegation, there will also be ministers. We will talk about all the progress and reforms that we are currently working on. Also, naturally, we will talk about the 12 recommendations that are actively being worked on in the Parliament of Georgia”, Garibashvili said. 

The European Council granted European perspective to Georgia and several months to address 12 conditions to receive the membership candidate status next year. 

The conditions include judiciary, electoral reforms, de-oligarchization and other questions.
