Georgian PM congratulates UK’s Keir Starmer on election win

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Friday extended his congratulations to Keir Starmer following his win in the United Kingdom general election. Kobakhidze expressed optimism about further strengthening bilateral ties in his social media post. 

“Congratulations to Keir Starmer on his victory in the General Elections of Great Britain! We express our heartfelt wishes for continued success in his new role as Prime Minister and stand ready to collaborate with his government to further enhance the fruitful and valuable Georgia-Great Britain partnership”, he said. 

The Labour Party achieved a sweeping victory on Thursday, ending 14 years of Conservative leadership by securing a significant number of seats across the country. Keir Starmer is expected to officially assume the role of Prime Minister later today.
