Georgian PM discusses ties, partnership with Japanese, Danish, UK ambassadors

The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, discussed ties and existing cooperation with Ambassadors of Japan, Denmark and the United Kingdom in meetings at the Government office on Thursday and Wednesday.
During the meeting with Japanese Ambassador Ishizuka Hideki, the focus was on the ongoing cooperation between Georgia and Japan across various sectors.
Discussions revolved around the potential for further enhancing bilateral trade and economic relations.
PM Kobakhidze reiterated the Georgian government’s commitment to fostering partnerships, particularly in terms of investments, export growth, and collaborative programs aimed at supporting small and medium businesses.
The importance of Japan’s steadfast support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity was also underscored, the Government press office reported.
In the meeting with Ambassador Anne Toft Sørensen, attention was drawn to the bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Georgia and the Kingdom of Denmark.
Both sides emphasized the significance of establishing the Kingdom of Denmark’s embassy in Tbilisi as a catalyst for strengthening bilateral ties.
Economic and energy collaboration were highlighted, with the resumption of direct flights between the two countries expected to further facilitate people-to-people contacts and bilateral tourism.
Kobakhidze expressed gratitude for Denmark’s “unwavering support” for Georgia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and integration into European and Euro-Atlantic structures.
In the discussion with Ambassador Mark Clayton on Wednesday, the strategic partnership and political relations between Georgia and the United Kingdom were examined.
Both parties deliberated on cooperation in various formats, acknowledging the role of Wardrop Dialogue in bolstering the partnership. The United Kingdom’s “significant contributions” to Georgia’s institutional empowerment and democratic progress were acknowledged.
Kobakhidze also thanked Clayton for the UK’s “steadfast support” for Georgia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and non-recognition policy, the press office informed.
