Georgian PM dismisses intelligence service chief

The head of the Georgian Intelligence Service, Major General Shalva Lomidze, has been relieved of his duties.

 

The decision was announced through an order issued by the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, and was subsequently published on the government’s website on Thursday.

Citing the first paragraph of Article 9 of the Law of Georgia on the Intelligence Service of Georgia, the order stated that Major General Lomidze was to be dismissed from his role as the head of the Intelligence Service of Georgia.
