Georgian PM holds talks on cooperation with New Slovak and Norwegian Ambassadors

In a meeting held on Wednesday in Tbilisi, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili engaged in discussions with the newly appointed Ambassadors of Slovakia and Norway, focusing on cooperation, bilateral ties, and the country’s European Union integration prospects.

The meeting with Matúš Bušovský, the recently appointed Slovak Ambassador, centered on “successful bilateral and multilateral cooperation.” Key topics of conversation included Tbilisi’s expectations of being granted European Union membership candidate status, with a decision anticipated in December. 

The PM expressed gratitude to Ambassador Bušovský for his steadfast support of Georgia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and Euro-Atlantic integration.

In a separate session with Bergljot Hovland, the newly appointed Norwegian Ambassador, discussions revolved around ties and the potential for future cooperation. Garibashvili took the opportunity to express appreciation for Norway’s unwavering support toward Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, highlighting the Kingdom of Norway’s “consistent non-recognition policy”, the Government press office said. 

The PM further acknowledged and commended Norway’s extensive engagement in Georgia as one of the largest international donors over the years. The meetings underscored Georgia’s commitment to strengthening diplomatic relations and fostering collaboration with key European partners.
