Georgian prime minister Irakli Garibashvili on Thursday met Péter Szijjártó, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, to discuss bilateral ties, Georgia’s EU integration and the Black Sea submarine cable project signed last year, involving the provision of green energy to Europe via Azerbaijan, Georgia, Hungary and Romania.

Garibashvili thanked Szijjártó for the “unwavering support” of Hungary towards the European integration of Georgia and noted  the report published by the European Commission in February on Georgia’s alignment with the bloc, “ clearly reflects” the progress achieved by Georgia on its path to the bloc, the government press office said.

The Tbilisi meeting also commended the progress in trade and economic relations between the two states, the government press office noted.
