Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Tuesday left for Brussels to attend a Global Gateway Forum hosted by the European Commission President on Wednesday and Thursday, the Government press office said.

The Forum will feature 40 high-level Government representatives from EU and partner countries, as well as representatives from financial institutions, including the EIB and EBRD, the private sector, civil society and international organisations, to discuss the bloc’s offer for quality, transparent investments in connectivity, health, education and research systems across the world, the European Commission said.

Garibashvili will be a “keynote speaker” at the event, which indicates the “country’s importance for the bloc and whole Europe” in the context of connectivity, Georgia’s Ambassador to the EU, Vakhtang Makharoblishvili said on Tuesday.
