Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Thursday met with Johannes Hahn, the European Commissioner for Budget and Administration, as well as the heads of several leading companies on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

The Georgian government press office said the dynamic of implementation of the EU recommendations for the country’s EU candidacy, Georgia’s “considerable progress toward European integration, and the key directions of the Georgia-EU cooperation agenda”, had been discussed with Hahn.

The Government Administration also said Garibashvili had pledged his country remained as a reliable ally for the EU in the region.

During the day, the head of the Georgian government had also met with Gautam Adani, an Indian businessman ranked as the wealthiest person in Asia and the third richest person in the world, to discuss energy and transport issues, and Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, the chief of the Emirati-based logistics and port terminal operating company DP World.

With the latter, the PM had discussed the country’s maritime potential.
