Georgian PM meets Koç Holding CEO in Davos to discuss cooperation

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili initiated his visit to Davos with a meeting alongside Levent Çakıroğlu, CEO of Koç Holding. The discussions primarily revolved around the strategic directions of Koç Holding’s operations in Georgia, emphasizing potential collaborations on new projects and sectors, the Government press office said.
Economic trends in Georgia were discussed during the talks, with Garibashvili attributing the country’s economic growth to “prudent government policies”. The official also pointed to Georgia’s attractiveness to investors, particularly in the IT sector, where he claimed favorable tax terms contribute to its allure.
The discussions extended to matters concerning the cooperation between Georgia and Koç Holding in the realm of tourism. Garibashvili highlighted Georgia’s considerable potential in the tourism sector, citing the government’s policies that have resulted in a “consistent rise” in direct revenues from tourism in recent years.
Both parties expressed a shared commitment to continued collaboration, paving the way for enhanced economic ties and mutual growth, the press office added.
Koç Holding, a major player in the global market and one of Turkey’s foremost companies, ranks among the world’s top 500 wealthiest firms. Renowned for its leading positions in the energy, automotive, and finance sectors, Koç Holding operates over 60 production facilities abroad and exports to more than 150 countries, including key markets such as the US, the UK, Spain, Hungary, Germany, Poland, Egypt, France, Italy, Romania, Australia, China, and others, the Government Administration said and added with a workforce of 105,000 people, Koç Holding reports revenues totaling 34.97 billion USD.
