Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Monday met with Marjan Šarec, the Defense Minister of Slovenia, where the officials discussed ties and prospects of future cooperation.

Garibashvili said at the meeting Georgia appreciated Slovenia’s “unwavering political and practical support for Georgia’s foreign policy priorities, also the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity”.

He also stressed Tbilisi was “progressing” toward becoming part of the European and Euro-Atlantic communities and briefed the visiting official about the progress in this direction, including in terms of the implementation of the European Commission’s 12 recommendations for obtaining the EU candidacy in December, the Government press office noted.

The PM affirmed the Georgian Government’s “commitment” to expanding cooperation with Slovenia in the process of European and Euro-Atlantic integration, the press office added.
