Georgian PM meets US Department of State senior advisor Reeker

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Wednesday met with Philip Reeker, Senior Advisor of the US Department of State for Caucasus Negotiations and the Geneva International Discussions, in a working dinner format. 

 

The officials discussed the “importance of Georgia’s strategic partnership with the US” and “positive dynamic of strategic partnership-preconditioned by the steps taken with the scope of the cooperation between the two countries”, the government press office said.  

 

The parties also expressed “full commitment” to further deepening and strengthening the current cooperation was expressed at the meeting. 

 

The conversation also touched on the security situation in the region and the South Caucasus and Georgia’s mediatory role in Armenia-Azerbaijan dialogue. 

 

Garibashvili stressed “negotiations are the only and important way to resolve any conflict and ensure progress”.  The meeting was attended by US Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan and Head of the Government Administration Revaz Javelidze.
