Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Tuesday offered business to invest in professional education along with his Government.
“This is a real public-private partnership offering, which involves us investing in professional education together with you, as well as developing professional educational programs with you, which in turn ensures the training of personnel corresponding to business requirements and significantly increases the employment rate”, he said.
While presenting his Government’s new vision for developing the professional education sector, the head of the Government noted this year his office had ensured a “record high” 95 million GEL budget for professional education. “In total we have spent 200 million GEL in the development of professional colleges in the last 10 years”, the PM added.
Contrasting figures with 2012 data, when the Georgian Dream Government took office, Garibashvili said unemployment and poverty rates had decreased to 17 and 15 percent respectively from 30 and 27 percent.
“More than half a million people have overcome poverty in Georgia over the past 10 years”, he claimed.
