Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and the Government officials on Thursday paid tribute to six civilians and 14 servicemembers who have been missing since the 1990s conflict in Georgia’s current Russian-controlled Abkhazia region.

Remains of 604 persons missing after the 1990s conflict and the Russia-Georgia 2008 war have been found in the search efforts initiated by the Government in 2013, with the engagement of the International Committee of the Red Cross, of which 265 have been identified, the Government press office said.

More than 2,000 are still missing.
