Georgian prime minister Irakli Garibashvili on Friday from Turkey responded to the first anniversary of the Russia-Ukraine conflict and condemned the “devastating war” waged by Russia against Kyiv, adding the conflict was “completely unjustified”.
He also responded to critical comments made by president Salome Zourabichvili during the day that his government had isolated itself from the international community due to its position on the war.
Pointing to Georgia’s “maximum” humanitarian and other efforts in aid of Ukraine since the launch of hostilities, as well as accepting the country’s refugees, the PM stressed his country had joined “more than 400 resolutions” in support of the country.
He stressed that in case of the presence of the “radical opposition” in power, Georgia would be “dragged in the conflict” and made as a battlefield.
