A meeting between Georgian PM Irakli Garibashvili and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, which was scheduled in Brussels later today, has been canceled due to Stoltenberg’s health issues, the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party MP Nikoloz Samkharadze stated on Wednesday.

Samkharadze said that Stoltenberg felt bad after today’s meeting with the representatives of Sweden and Finland as the countries formally applied for membership to the alliance.

The MP noted that Stoltenberg had coronavirus shortly before.

Garibashvili is visiting Brussels in the wake of Georgia’s submission of the EU membership questionnaire earlier this month.

While in Brussels, Garibashvili has already met with the President of the European Council Charles Michel where he said that Georgia’s top priority is the Euro-Atlantic integration.
