Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Wednesday told his Hungarian counterpart his Government was expecting a “fair” and “merit-based” decision on his country’s EU candidacy in December.
He also said his Government had ensured “open, transparent and inclusive process” for the implementation of the EU candidacy conditions.
Garibashvili also praised the Hungarian Government for its support for Georgia’s EU integration and said the trade turnover between the countries had increased by 21 percent and amounted to $46.62 million this year.
The officials also discussed the potential of the Black Sea submarine cable and Georgia’s role for Europe’s energy security, the Government press office said.
