Georgian PM: US Independence Day symbol of freedom, democracy for entire world

“The 4th of July is a symbol of freedom, democracy, and commitment to our shared values not only for Americans, but also for the entire world, ” Georgian PM Irakli Garibashvili stated on Monday,congratulating the strategic ally on the date.

The PM suggested that the “unwavering support” of the United States strengthened Georgia in terms of protecting its sovereignty and territorial integrity and encouraged the country’s Euro-Atlantic aspirations.

An event dedicated to  the US Independence Day was held at the US Embassy in Georgia on June 30.

Representatives of the government, parliament, non-governmental organizations and media were invited to it.

At the event, an incident took place between the Georgia Dream MP Anri Okhanashvili and Vato Tsereteli, director of the opposition-minded TV Pirveli channel.
