Irakli Kobakhidze, Georgia’s newly appointed Prime Minister, on Friday pledged his office’s “steadfast commitment to advancing democratic reforms, strengthening institutions, and fostering democratic development within the country in a meeting with Robin Dunnigan, the United States ambassador to Georgia.

The meeting in the Government’s Tbilisi office addressed a wide range of issues regarding the strategic partnership between the two countries and the prospects for cooperation development, the Government press office said.

Both parties affirmed their readiness to continue and enhance the “already fruitful” bilateral cooperation, the press office added.

Kobakhidze officially assumed the post earlier this month, after the resignation of Irakli Garibashvili in late January.
