The Georgian Interior Ministry on Friday said it had arrested a citizen of the United States, who was wanted by the Interpol red notice.

The body said the arrest warrant included four charges from the state of Texas – continuous sexual harassment of a minor, aggravated sexual assault of a minor under 14, assault on a family member by suffocation (attempted extortion), and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The arrest warrant also included seven charges from the state of Louisiana, which included filing false public records, falsifying documents by fraudulent means and two counts of theft between $5,000 and $25,000.

The suspect entered Georgia in April 2023 before the international search for him was announced, the Ministry said, and added the international search for the individual was announced by the Interpol General Secretariat with a red circular on June 27, 2023.
