Georgian President hails “excellent” meeting with Latvian counterpart at “pivotal moment” for Tbilisi’s EU intentions

Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili on Tuesday said she had held an “excellent” meeting with her Latvian counterpart Edgars Rinkēvičs at the “pivotal moment” of Georgia’s European Union integration path. 

 

In her social media post, the President also thanked Latvia for “steadfast support” over the years and backing Georgia’s EU aspirations. 

 

Zourabichvili is on her foreign trip to “facilitate” her country ‘s obtaining the EU membership candidate status later this year. 

 

She has already met with Estonian counterpart, and has been scheduled to also meet with the Lithuanian President.
