Georgian President hosts Israeli Ambassador to discuss developments

Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili on Friday hosted Israeli Ambassador to Georgia Hadas Meitzad at her Tbilisi office to discuss ongoing developments following Hamas attack on Israel last week.

 

The President expressed her “deep concern and sorrow” and expressed “unwavering support” and solidarity to Israel on behalf of the Georgian people, her office said. 

 

Zourabichvili also handed over a letter of condolence to the diplomat, the press office added. 

 

At least 1,200 people have died and 2,900 others have been injured in Israel after Hamas’s surprise attack on Saturday, according to official figures. 

 

Palestinian authorities claimed at least 1,100 have died and another 5,339 have been injured in Gaza in retaliatory airstrikes by Israel.
