Georgian president Salome Zourabichvili on Monday launched her official visit to Lithuania to promote Tbilisi’s Euro-Atlantic integration ahead of the EU’s decision on Georgia’s membership candidate status this year and the NATO Vilnius summit in July, her office announced.
Zourabichvili will meet with President Gitanas Nausėda, Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė and the Parliament Speaker Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, before visiting the Museum of the Occupation and Freedom Fights of Lithuania and laying a wreath at the memorial of fallen Lithuanian heroes.
The President will also visit the shelter of Ukrainian refugees opened in the country following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine last year, with Diana Nepaitė, the first lady of Lithuania.
Along with her administration representatives, Zourabichvili’s delegation includes the Georgian Parliamnet’s opposition lawmakers Aleksandre Elisashvili and Teona Akubardia.
