Georgian ruling party delegation holds “productive meetings” in China, visits Shanghai Development Exhibition Center

The delegation of the ruling Georgian Dream party, led by Chairman Irakli Kobakhidze, has held “productive meetings” in China, as part of the ongoing, week-long visit, the party press office said on Thursday.
The meetings included a “productive exchange” with Chen Jing, Deputy Chairman of the Shanghai Council, that was followed by an official dinner hosted in honor of the GD delegation, the press office added.
Before the session at the Council, the delegation visited the Shanghai Development Exhibition Center, where they gained insights into the economic development plan for Shanghai.
In addition to the activities in Shanghai, the delegation also conducted “high-level meetings” in Beijing during their visit to China, the press office noted.
The meetings included discussions with Minister Liu Jianchao, the head of the International Department of the Chinese ruling party, Deputy Minister Sun Haiyan, Zhang Laiming, Vice President of the Development Research Center of the State Council, Xiao Jie, Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National People’s Congress of China, and Deputy Trade and Commerce Minister Ling Ji.
The delegation from the ruling party includes First Deputy Chairman of Parliament Giorgi Volski, Deputy Chairman of Parliament Irakli Chikovani, Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Nikoloz Samkharadze, Davit Songulashvili, chairman of the Sector Economy and Economic Policy Committee, Agrarian Affairs Committee Chairwoman Nino Tsilosani, and Viktor Sanikidze, the first deputy chairman of the Sports Committee.
Further meetings within the scope of their visit to China, which began on Monday, are scheduled for Friday.
