Georgian volunteer killed in Ukraine repatriated

Mikheil Mazanashvili, a Georgian volunteer who was killed in Ukraine on March 31 during the country’s ongoing conflict with Russia, was on Friday repatriated to Georgia. 

 

A 29-year-old, professional fighter, was killed in shelling near the city of Bakhmut, Donetsk region.

 

Davit Kuchukian, another Georgian fighter who died in Ukraine, was laid to rest in Georgia on Thursday.

 

42 Georgian volunteers have died since the beginning of the war in Ukraine in February 2022. 

 

The first death of a Georgian fighter was reported in March of last year.
