In an address during the Unification Day event on October 3, Peter Fischer, the Ambassador of Germany, challenged the Georgian government’s assertions regarding the notion of a “Global War Party”, emphasizing the European Union’s commitment to global peace.
“We love the European Union; it truly embodies global peace,” Fischer stressed, reaffirming the EU’s role in fostering stability and cooperation. He highlighted the “deep-rooted partnership between Georgia and Germany, which has flourished for over 30 years, built on the foundations of democracy and Euro-Atlantic integration”.
Fischer reflected on his previous discussions with the Prime Minister of Georgia, where he had “emphasized the significance and quality of collaboration. “I agreed with him but also warned about the risks of missing this historic opportunity,” he cautioned, over stalled talks on Tbilisi’s European integration.
Reaffirming Germany’s position, Fischer clarified that the country did not wish to interfere in Georgia’s upcoming parliamentary elections, explaining the absence of political leaders from the event. “We want to emphasize that we will not interfere in the October 26 elections,” he asserted.
The GD never specifies whom they mean in the “Global War Party”, but claim it is in the west and “influencing the decisions” made in the US and the EU.
The GD accuses the “Global War Party” of taking alleged actions to “drag Georgia into war” through baking the “radical wing” of the domestic opposition.
