German president arrives in Kyiv

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier arrived in Kyiv on Tuesday, scheduled to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. 

Upon the arrival, the German official stressed that “solidarity with Ukraine is unshakable”. 

“My message to the Ukrainians is that we are not just standing by your side, we will continue to support Ukraine economically, politically and militarily,” Steinmeier said. 

 

According to media reports, the President of Germany  was planning to visit Ukraine last Wednesday, however, the visit was postponed due to security measures on the recommendation of the German Foreign and Internal Affairs Ministries, as well as the security services.
