As part of a large-scale joint operation, searches were conducted at the homes of former Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili, former State Security Service head Grigol Liluashvili, former Prosecutor General Otar Partskhaladze and eight individuals connected to them, the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia announced at a briefing on Friday.

According to the statement, the operation began at 10:00 a.m. and was carried out simultaneously at 22 locations across the country.

As a result of the searches, various electronic devices, documents and large sums of money were seized from the properties, the statement reads.

The Prosecutor’s Office noted that investigative, procedural and search actions are still ongoing and that the public will be informed about the results in due course.
