Gigi Tsereteli, the leader of the European Georgia opposition party, on Thursday said November 28 carried “great importance” for preserving the spirit of Georgia’s democratic movement.

Tsereteli said the events of November 28, 2024, were a severe blow to the country’s democratic future, but the past year has shown the resilience of Georgian society.

“What happened a year ago was a heavy blow to our country’s democratic future. This past year has shown how unyielding our society is and how strong the spirit remains for Georgia to be a normal country - one that meets the high standards of Europe. This is our fight, and November 28 has great significance for maintaining that spirit” Tsereteli said.

A protest march is scheduled for November 28 at 19:00, starting from Tbilisi State University and heading toward Rustaveli Avenue.
