Giorgi Gakharia, the leader of the Gakharia for Georgia opposition and the country’s former Prime Minister, has called for stronger efforts to support Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic aspirations, emphasizing the President’s office “remains the sole institution actively upholding the will of the Georgian people in this regard”.
“Someone should make a voice with our strategic partners that Georgia’s commitment to its foreign orientation and European, Euro-Atlantic course is the decision of the Georgian people,” Gakharia stressed, adding the “President’s office is the only institution currently enforcing the people’s will on foreign policy”.
Amid growing debates over Georgia’s European and transatlantic future, Gakharia praised the international efforts of the Georgian President, suggesting that her visits abroad highlighted Georgia’s commitment to its chosen foreign policy path.
