The Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, under Chairman Giorgi Jincharadze, has announced a new scholarship program supporting high-achieving students displaced from the Russian-occupied territories of Abkhazia.
The program, supported by the Prime Minister of Georgia, provides monthly stipends of 200 and 300 GEL to outstanding bachelor’s and master’s students enrolled in accredited higher education institutions.
Over 220 applications have already been submitted, and the government has allocated approximately half a million GEL to ensure all qualified students are funded.
Jincharadze stressed that the initiative aims to encourage academic excellence among displaced youth and provide them with additional incentives to focus on their studies.
“Education and youth development remain top priorities for the Abkhazian government,” he said, highlighting the program as a step toward improving opportunities for talented students.
