Giorgi Jincharadze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, has met with displaced young athletes during a visit to the Abkhazian Table Tennis Federation, reaffirming his office’s “continued support” for youth sport development.
Jincharadze was accompanied by the Minister of Education and Culture of Abkhazia, Beka Gvachliani, as he toured the federation’s training facilities and observed the young athletes during their practice.
The visit highlighted the challenges facing displaced youth engaged in sports, with discussions held between government officials, federation representatives, and the athletes themselves, his press office said.
In remarks following the visit, Jincharadze described sport as “one of the most important tools for the development of youth” and pledged ongoing government backing for sports initiatives aimed at supporting displaced communities.
