Giorgi Jinjharadze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, on Thursday attended a festive service at the Kortshekhi Church of the Holy Mother of God to mark the Assumption of Mary, urging prayers for unity, peace, and Georgia’s territorial integrity.

Speaking to congregants, Jinjharadze said the holiday “strengthens our spiritual unity, faith, and preservation of national traditions.” He extended his greetings to fellow Georgians displaced from the currently Russian-occupied Abkhazia region and residents of occupied territories, emphasizing the importance of collective faith in the hope of a reunited homeland.

The service was also attended by regional and local officials, including Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti State Representative Davit Verava, Georgian MP Genrieta Tsitsava, Zugdidi Mayor Mamuka Potsaria, and mayoral candidate Davit Kodua.
