Abkhazia Government head meets displaced families, announces winter support

The head of the Abkhazia Autonomous Republic government, Giorgi Jincharadze, has met internally displaced families from Abkhazia living in Potskhoetseri, announcing additional support measures for the winter period.
According to the government, each displaced household in the settlement will receive a 500-lari electricity voucher to help cover energy costs during the colder months. New Year gift packages were also distributed as part of the initiative.
Speaking to residents, Jincharadze said displaced families remained a priority for the Abkhazia government. He added that further assistance programmes would continue in the future.
Later the same day, Jincharadze, accompanied by members of the Abkhazia government and local officials, visited vulnerable displaced families across the Samegrelo–Zemo Svaneti region. During the visits, residents were offered seasonal aid packages and were congratulated on the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays.
The meetings were attended by the State Representative in Samegrelo–Zemo Svaneti, Davit Verava, the Mayor of Tsalenjikha, Guba Sajaia, and the Chair of the Tsalenjikha Municipal Council, Tsotne Shonia.
Under the programme, more than 2,000 internally displaced families from Abkhazia across Georgia are expected to receive New Year assistance packages.
