Abkhazia Gov’t head discusses human rights situation in Russian-occupied region with Turkish Ambassador

Chair of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, Giorgi Jincharadze, on Saturday discussed the situation in Georgia’s Russian-occupied region of Abkhazia, including cases of human rights violations affecting the local population, during a meeting with Turkish Ambassador to Georgia Ali Kaan Orbay.
During the introductory meeting, Jincharadze briefed the Turkish Ambassador on the activities of the Government, emphasised the long-standing friendly relations between Georgia and Turkey, and thanked the Turkish side for its years-long support and projects aimed at assisting internally displaced persons from Abkhazia.
In turn, Ambassador Orbay expressed his appreciation for the meeting and once again reaffirmed the firm and unwavering support of the Turkish Government for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The parties also discussed plans to continue cooperation in various areas in the future.
