Tavadgirdze described proposed talks as part of a “Russian game"

Giorgi Tavdgirdze, founder of the movement Pari (Shield), has said there was no realistic chance that Russian President Vladimir Putin will agree to any form of peace negotiations over the war in Ukraine.

Speaking on Ukraine’s peace initiatives, Tavadgirdze described proposed talks as part of a “Russian game.”

“The situation has not worsened, but it remains persistently difficult. Ukraine is managing the challenges of the ongoing war, yet the conflict continues without any sign of easing,” he said.

“Regarding peace talks, unfortunately, this is a Russian strategy. Even US President Trump was sometimes misled and became part of Putin’s game. Every expert circle agrees that Russia does not want peace. There is no chance Putin will sign any peace agreement because the pro-war faction in Russia remains strong, making any theoretical move toward peace impossible,” Tavdgirdze added.
