Over 3,000 Ukrainian children educated in Georgia since 2022, Vice Speaker

The education programme, launched in response to the war in Ukraine, has seen around 800 students either complete the 11th grade in Georgia or return to Ukraine, Volski informed.

More than 3,000 Ukrainian migrant children have received education in Georgia since 2022, with 2,200 currently enrolled in public schools, Giorgi Volski, First Deputy Chairman of the Georgian Parliament said on Tuesday.
Dedicated Ukrainian-language and Russian-language sectors have been established in four public schools - three in Tbilisi and one in Batumi. Of the current students, 1,383 are studying in the Ukrainian sector, while the rest are in Russian-language classes, he said.

Around 80 Ukrainian teachers and child psychologists are employed under the initiative, which has received approximately 20 million GEL in funding from Georgia’s Ministry of Education between 2022 and 2025.
