Giorgi Volski, First Vice-Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, wrote on social media on Monday that “tens of billions” have vanished during the war in Ukraine and that weapons were sold off, arguing that such developments could not have happened without a coordinated scheme involving high‑level international actors.

“Tens of billions disappeared during the war in Ukraine, weapons were sold… Of course, this could not have been chaotic looting. A well‑organized scheme was functioning, and no one will believe that high‑ranking international figures were not involved,” Volski wrote.

According to him, the more realistic the prospect of resolving the crisis in Ukraine becomes, the stronger would be the efforts to ignite new conflicts - with the South Caucasus being the most vulnerable region. Volski claimed that bringing a “puppet government” to power in Georgia would create real preconditions for a new hotspot.

“Therefore, as the resolution of the Ukrainian crisis becomes more realistic, attempts to create new hotspots will intensify. The South Caucasus is the most convenient location for this. A coup in Georgia and the installation of a puppet government would be a real precondition for a new confrontation. There is also an interest in controlling - or even blocking - the Middle Corridor,” he wrote.

Volski added that it was “regrettable and shocking” that certain “organized and well‑funded groups of Georgians” were participating in these efforts.
