Georgia’s Minister of Education, Science and Youth, Givi Mikanadze, has visited the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, touring the campus and meeting with the administration and academic staff.
The discussions focused on the establishment of a Kartvelology Center dedicated to the study of Georgian language, culture, and history, the ministry press office said on Monday.
“During the meeting, we reviewed the specific aspects necessary for founding and developing the Kartvelology Center. We received full support from the university’s rector, leadership, and the Faculty of Humanities. In the coming months, we will complete all required procedures and aim to officially open the Shota Rustaveli Kartvelology Center this year,” Mikanadze said.
He stressed that the center will promote Georgian language and culture internationally and strengthen ties between the Hebrew University and Georgian higher education institutions.
