Georgia’s Minister of Education, Science and Youth, Givi Mikanadze, has met with Rolande Pryce, the World Bank’s Regional Director for the South Caucasus, to discuss ongoing collaborative projects and explore ways to strengthen cooperation, the Georgian Education Ministry announced on Thursday. 

The two officials reviewed major initiatives including the Georgia Human Capital Program and the Innovation, Inclusiveness and Quality Project – Georgia I2Q. They also highlighted the importance of the government’s higher education strategy, which aims to prepare a skilled workforce for the labour market, the body added. 

Mikanadze stressed that the ministry and the World Bank shared a “long-standing and productive partnership, with numerous large-scale projects contributing to the development of Georgia’s education system.”

At the conclusion of the meeting, Pryce expressed the World Bank’s readiness to continue supporting joint projects and further strengthen cooperation with Georgia, the Ministry press office added.
