Georgia’s Minister of Education, Science and Youth, Givi Mikanadze, on Tuesday congratulated students on successfully passing the national exams and securing places at higher education institutions.

In his comments, Mikanadze said “I congratulate each of you on your achievements. It is truly a source of pride that your knowledge and abilities have earned you a place at our universities. In just a few weeks, you will begin an important new stage in life.”

The minister further emphasised the role of students in shaping the country’s future, saying that they would be entrusted with the nation’s leadership in the years ahead.

Highlighting the importance of supporting students, he noted that more than 11,600 applicants had received state grants this year, recognising their efforts as well as the support of teachers and families.

“Ensuring access to higher education is one of our key priorities,” Mikanadze claimed. “Through various initiatives, including social programmes, we provide funding to students from vulnerable families, large households, highland regions, and areas near temporarily occupied territories. This demonstrates the state’s commitment to investing in the education and development of future generations.”

Over 31,700 applicants were admitted to universities, representing around 88% of those eligible to enroll, with more than 11,600 receiving state-funded grants, the Ministry said.
