Georgian Minister of Education, Science, and Youth Givi Mikanadze held a working meeting with Emin Amrullayev, Minister of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

According to the ministry's press service, the ministers discussed ongoing reforms across all levels of the two countries’ education systems and explored steps to deepen bilateral cooperation.

Minister Mikanadze emphasized that Georgia is implementing a number of important initiatives aimed at supporting Azerbaijani students, teachers, and pupils. These include strengthening language instruction in schools and increasing funding opportunities for Azerbaijani students in Georgian universities.

Both sides highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation in the field of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics). The Azerbaijani side expressed interest in establishing a STEAM center in Georgia, and Minister Mikanadze confirmed Georgia’s readiness to collaborate on this initiative.

The ministers noted the long-standing partnership between Georgia and Azerbaijan in education and science and expressed commitment to further expand it through large-scale joint projects across various educational levels.

They also discussed reestablishing a joint working group composed of representatives from both countries’ education ministries. The group is expected to begin active work on a number of issues starting in August.
