Georgian Education Minister, Israel’s Ambassador discuss expanding cooperation in education, science

Georgian Education Minister Givi Mikanadze and the newly appointed Ambassador of Israel Walid Abu Haya on Friday discussed ways to further strengthen and expand cooperation in the fields of education and science and exchanged views on future joint initiatives.

During the introductory meeting, Mikanadze briefed the Ambassador on the key directions of Georgia’s higher education reform, recently presented to the public by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.

The discussion focused on enhancing collaboration between higher education and scientific institutions of the two countries, developing joint programmes and research projects and expanding student exchange opportunities. Special emphasis was placed on vocational education, particularly in the agricultural sector.

The Ambassador expressed readiness to further deepen the constructive cooperation between Georgia and Israel.
