Education minister, UNICEF discuss strengthening education reforms, youth policy

Georgia's Minister of Education, Science and Youth, Givi Mikanadze, has held a working meeting with UNICEF Representative in Georgia Isabella Castrogiovanni to discuss ongoing cooperation in the education sector and future priorities.
Mikanadze thanked UNICEF for its continued support of Georgia's education system, highlighting a number of large-scale projects implemented jointly over the years.
The minister said the key objectives of Georgia's ongoing general education reform were fully aligned with UNICEF's Country Programme Document for 2026-2030, as well as the 2026 joint work plan agreed between the ministry and the UN agency.
Discussions focused on the development of early childhood education and care, expanding access to inclusive educational services, and strengthening youth policy initiatives.
The two sides also reviewed opportunities for further cooperation in support of educational development and children's welfare in Georgia.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties expressed their readiness to continue active collaboration on shared priorities.
